Is an Irish wolf hound the perfect dog for you? Could be! Read the sections "about" and "care and info". If you can deal with the requirements for a giant breed, have enough room and love, this is a great dog. They are kind, non aggressive and love to be loved. They are wonderful with children, adults, and senior citizens, just watch out for their size. They are easy on a lead; no dragging with these dogs.
If buying a wolf hound, ask the right questions. Are they sound? Are their eyes, hips and heart guaranteed for at least 2 years? How long is their life span in their particular line? (Some lines only live for 6 or 7 years, while others 10 to 12 years). What kind of inoculations have they had? Do they have a medical record? Are there any inherited problems in the line? What type of food have they been given? And any other questions you can think of. Don't be afraid to ask. The breeder should be happy to answer any and all questions before, during after and until the dog dies, if necessary.
