We have 2 new champions, Ch Xanadu Bacall's Just Whistle (Lauren) and Ch Xanadu Donovan's Reef (Duke). Both finished at the San Antonio cluster in style. Duke was awarded winners dog and best of Winners to finish and Lauren was awarded Best of Breed on 3/7 day show with her brother, Bogie, as Best of Opposite. She also won winners' bitch at our specialty and best of opposite on Sunday. Our 6 month puppy, Xanadu Knight of the Mystic Sea won winners dog at the specialty, another surprise. King is a 75# 6 month old and a real goof ball, but when he grows up... watch out, he'll be a big one!

Great dogs for sale and/or co-ownership... Get some beautiful pups/dogs for next to nothing with a co-ownership. Referrals will be required. We're looking for a few great homes and families. This is an unusual opportunity to get a quality dog for very little.

We will not plan any litters, except Houston and Ramona, until we get a contract on the acreage and house. There's too much to do with too little time. We will be in the same area, only on 3 to 5 acres. As soon as possible we will post upcoming litters; hopefully by Summer, 2010. We will still take deposits on Chessies and Goldens. Sad news... we lost Ripley last week. Ripley was a one of a kind girl; a tremendous retriever, show dog, escape artist and a real lover. She had a great chessie "smile" that would warm everyone's hearts. Ripley had just turned 9. She passed peacefully in her sleep of bloat. In all our years of breeding, we have never experienced this condition but knew that any large, deep chested dogs could get it. We had no warning; it just happened. We will miss Ripley, our best producer, mother of many champions, but know she's in a good place with her mother, Ruby and grandmother, Shelby, all gone in the last year.
